Rotary Trip to Mount Ruapehu to do the
Tongariro Crossing - March
13-14, 2010

The Hut on Mount Ruapehu
Taranaki Falls - Saturday was cloudy and windy so we walked from
the Chateau to Taranaki Falls, about 2 hours return.
The Tongariro Crossing - Sunday was a beautiful day. 17 of
us started on the Crossing about 7.45pm and were picked up at the other end
about 4pm. A spectacular and strenuous walk with amazing and varied
scenery. A map of our trip, recorded on a gps, and the graph of our trip profile
are also shown below.
